# open.CHECK **open.CHECK** (the open.CHECKLIST app) is the shop-floor data capture module of the open.INC stack. It provides **checklist-style forms** that operators fill in directly at the machine or workplace to record operational and production data (*Betriebsdatenerfassung*, BDE). ## What it is used for - Digitizing paper checklists and inspection sheets. - Structured capture of operational and machine data on the shop floor. - Feeding the captured values back into the open.INC platform, where they become data sources you can visualize in [open.DASH](Introduction.md) and act on in other modules. ## Where the data goes Values entered through open.CHECK are stored like any other data source, so they appear in the [Data Sidebar](Data%20Sidebar.md) and can be used in widgets, reports, and maintenance workflows just like sensor data. > [!info] Developers > Looking to run or build the open.CHECKLIST app yourself? See the > **[Installation guide](../../../Developer/open.CHECK/Installation.md)** in the Developer section.
