# The Frontpage
When you log in to open.DASH, the first page you land on is the **frontpage** —
your personal entry point into the system.

## What you see
The frontpage shows a grid of **tiles**. Each tile represents an area or
application you have access to, for example:
- **Monitoring** — open your dashboards and work with your data.
- **Administration** — manage users, data sources, and permissions.
- **Modules** — additional apps that are installed in your instance, such as
[open.SERVICE](../../Modules/Modules.md) for maintenance.
Every tile has an **icon**, a **color**, and a **label** so you can recognize it
at a glance. Click a tile to open that area. Tiles that point to an external
system open in a new browser tab.
> [!info] What appears here depends on you
> The tiles you see are determined by the **plugins installed** in your instance and
> by **your permissions**. Two users can therefore see different frontpages. If you
> expect a tile that isn't there, ask an administrator to check your
> [permissions](Managing%20Data%20Source%20Permissions.md).
## Groups
Related tiles can be **grouped** together. When several tiles belong to the same
group, open.DASH displays them as a cluster so related functions stay close to one
another.
## Automatic redirect
If you only have access to a **single** area, open.DASH skips the frontpage and
takes you straight there — so you don't have to click through a page with just one
tile.
## Notifications
The frontpage can also surface **notifications** (for example important system
messages), so you see relevant information as soon as you sign in.
## Where to go next
- To start visualizing data, open **Monitoring** and create a dashboard — see
[The Data Explorer](Data%20Explorer.md).
- To orient yourself in the system, read [Key Concepts](Key%20Concepts.md).
- The control in the top-right corner of the header lets you switch context — see
[The Source Picker](The%20Source%20Picker.md).
