# Action Buttons Widget type: `opendash-widget-ow-actuators` · Plugin: `@opendash/plugin-openware` ![Action Buttons preview](../../../../../_attachments/opendash/widgets/assets/widget-previews/ow-actuators.png) ## Description Buttons to toggle specific events, such as emails, reports or data messages. Each configured button triggers an open.WARE actuator action when clicked, posting to the backend `/api/actuator/<type>` endpoint. Supported action types include Send e-mail, Mail Report, Telegram Message, AMQP Message, Webhook, Transform&Forward, and Send Datapoint. A success or error notification is shown depending on the response. ## Data requirements - No data items are required (`dataItems: null`). - No time-series data fetching is performed (`dataFetching: null`). The list of available actuator types is loaded from the open.WARE backend (`/api/actuator`). ## Options | Option | Type | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `elements` (Available Actions) | array of action elements | `[]` (empty) | The configured action buttons. Each element has a Label, Icon, Color, Type, and type-specific target/topic/payload/options. | | `vertical` (Vertical Alignment) | boolean | — | Stack the buttons vertically instead of horizontally. | Each element in `elements` carries: `label` (Label), `icon` (Icon), `color` (Color), `type` (Type — one of Webhook, AMQP Message, Telegram Message, Transform&Forward, Mail Report, Send Datapoint, Send e-mail), plus `target`, `topic`, `payload`, and `options`. The "Send Datapoint" type additionally references a data item and value. ## Presets - **Action Buttons** — Buttons to toggle specific events, such as emails, reports or data messages. Default config: `elements: []`, borderless styling. Tag `control`. ## How to use 1. Add the "Action Buttons" widget from the control category. 2. In the settings, the "Available Actions" section lists the actuator types offered by your open.WARE backend. Click a type to add a new button. 3. In the drawer, set the button's Label, Icon and Color, then fill in the type-specific fields (target, topic, payload, options; for "Send Datapoint", select the data item and value). 4. Save the action; repeat for additional buttons. 5. Optionally enable "Vertical Alignment" to stack the buttons. 6. On the dashboard, click a button to trigger its action; a success or error notification reports the backend response.
