# Trip Monitor
Widget type: `opendash-widget-leaflet-trips` · Plugin: `@opendash/plugin-mobility`

## Description
Displays trips as tracks on a map and as a selectable list with timestamps — ideal for analysing individual journeys and movement patterns. The widget shows a searchable, scrollable list of trips on the left and a Leaflet map on the right. Selecting a trip draws its start point, end point, and the connecting line on the map and zooms to fit it. Each list entry shows the trip label, the start/end time, and the data item value.
## Data requirements
- Data selection: by item (`select: "item"`), exactly 1 item (min 1, max 1). No value type restriction is set (the item is expected to carry trip data with start/end geo positions).
- Data fetching: live and history are both supported; aggregation is disabled (`aggregation: false`).
## Options
This widget has no configurable options beyond data selection.
The config interface declares `start` and `end` (the indices of the start/end geo value types within the selected item), but the widget registers no settings component (`settingsComponent: null`), so these are not configured through a settings UI. Trip filtering is done at runtime via the search box above the trip list.
## Presets
- Trip Monitor — Displays trips as tracks on a map and as a selectable list with timestamps — ideal for analysing individual journeys and movement patterns. Tags: `map`. No default config.
## How to use

3. Choose a time range; matching trips appear in the list on the left.
4. Use the search box to filter the trip list by content.
5. Click a trip to draw its start/end points and route on the map and zoom to it.
